I take a well-rounded approach to music education and design lessons to include: repertoire, technique, note reading, ear training, rhythmic skills, improvisation, and theory.
I aim to equip students with the tools needed to grow as independent musicians, building both strong foundational skills and the confidence to explore music on their own. Ultimately, piano lessons aim to nurture a lifelong connection to music by balancing structure with creativity, discipline, joy... and of course fun!
Lessons begin at $165/month. Lessons are already prorated for school closures/holidays. Tuition is based off enrollment, not attendance. For more info, see "Studio Policies" section below.

I have been teaching piano and music classes in the public schools for over 15 years. My background is rooted in pedagogy and various philosophies of music education (Orff and Kodaly.) I am passionate about nurturing musical growth in students of all ages and abilities. In both general music classes and piano lessons, my philosophy centers around building strong foundations in music literacy, empowering students to become confident, independent musicians.
Yes, piano lessons are one-on-one to ensure that each student receives personalized attention and instruction.
I generally recommend private piano lessons for students who are at least in Kindergarten. There is a lot of nuance in deciding when piano lessons are right - which is why I suggest a free trial lesson for us to get to know each other and assess your child's readiness for lessons.
Monthly tuition begins at $165/month and is based off enrollment in the studio.
Students reserve their time-slot for each week, and tuition. is based on a student's enrollment (not their attendance.) I will do my best to offer make-up lessons when there is an opening in my teaching shedule, but I do not offer a refund or credit on missed lessons.
The opportunity to perform is one of the best part of lessons! Students will have numerous opportunities to perform for their peers in group classes, and several opportunities to perfomr in various recitals and festivals. Performing is an important part of learning the piano, and a great way to showcase a student's skills and gain confidence!
